Unlike other pests, moths do not pose health risks. However, most moths in the Philippines are seen as pest due to the damage their larvae cause to clothes, fabrics, furs and stored products.
Once it is inside your home or business premise, most moth caterpillars can cause damage by eating the protein (keratin) found in natural materials such as wool, cotton and silk. This puts your delicate items at particular risk of damage.
This damage may continue for weeks after moth caterpillars have hatched, causing serious harm even before the numbers of flying moths are seen. Hence, control of moth before its infestation is important.
